SADC Development Finance Resource Centre
The SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (DFRC) is an institutional hub of the SADC Development Finance Institutions (DFI) Network. It was set up by the Network as its implementing body, mandated to carry out its goals as set out in the SADC Protocol on Finance and Investment (the FIP). The DFRC provides support to DFIs, national governments and other development stakeholders in the areas of capacity building, policy research, advisory services and advocacy in development finance.
The SADC DFI Network was established in May 2000, following a recommendation by the SADC Development Finance Study of 1998 (DFS98) and the approval of SADC Committee of Misters of Finance and Investment. The Network presently has a membership of forty (40) national DFIs in fifteen (15) SADC countries. The Network is committed to the principles and objectives of SADC as set out in the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP), specifically the achievement of the broad objectives of sustainable and equitable development, employment generation and poverty alleviation.
Located in Gaborone Botswana, the SADC DFRC has been in operation since July 2003.
