TRAINING ON THE ROLE OF PARLIAMENT IN IMPLEMENTING SDGS
The Sustainable Development Goals Center for Africa (SDGC/A), in collaboration with the National Assembly of Zambia (NAZ), will organize a capacity building on the role of parliament in the implementation of the SDGs.
The objective of the SDGs training workshop for Parliamentarians is to support MP’s to better monitor and advocate for the SDGs localization and effectively coordinate, represent, engage and facilitate public participation.
The SDGC/A will provide training and technical support to the staff of the National Assembly of Zambia (NAZ) and Parliamentarian committees on SDGs to better track and report progress on SDGs at the national level and sub-national level.
The committees include Agriculture, Lands and Natural Resources, Education, Science and Technology, Energy, Water development and Tourism, Health community development and National economy trade and Labour matters.
The SDGC/A will introduce to participants tools for SDGs localisation, including a SDG Monitoring and Reporting (M&R) System to facilitate knowledge transfer, sharing and fast-tracking progress on SDGs and regional commitments in real time.
The SDGs training for NAZ staff and Parliamentary committees will be between 25th to 26th of June 2022 at Neelkanth Sarovar Premiere Hotel, Lusaka , Zambia
