Call for applications: BMZ African-German Leadership Academy 2022
We are pleased to announce that the call for application for the BMZ African-German Leadership Academy 2022 (African Academy) is open!
From April - June 2022, the DIE will host the second group of early to mid-career professionals in Bonn and Berlin for the in-person dialogue and training programme. Flanked by an online pre-phase and post phase, the 2022 Academy continues the theme of sustainable development with a focus on Agenda 2030 and Africa Agenda 2063. The programme is grounded on three essential elements contributing to capacity development: knowledge, leadership and action.
One of the objectives of the African Academy is to build a network and foster knowledge sharing with African partners such as yourselves that work in sustainable development and governance. Sending institutions have the opportunity to propose a real-life challenge for consideration which, as part of the innovation project phase, participants will work on to find a solution.
We wish to extend an invitation to you to share the call for application with suitably qualified and interested professionals within your institution and networks. The target audience is persons between 25-40 years (with noted exceptions) who work in sustainable development and governance. As part of the application process, your express support as an employer remains imperative. Further details on eligibility and the programme's benefit for employers are available on the DIE website here. For any questions concerning the application process, please contact: Julia Osada.
We are excited to grow our network and appreciate your support by sharing the call for application internally in your institutions and within your respective networks.

The German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) in brief:
The DIE is one of the leading research institutions for development policy world-wide. It is based in the UN City of Bonn. DIE builds bridges between theory and practice and works within international research networks. The key to DIE’s success is its institutional independence, which is guaranteed by the Institute’s founding statute. Since its founding in 1964, DIE has based its work on the interplay between Research, Consulting and Training. These three areas complement each other and are the factors responsible for the Institute’s distinctive profile.
Every Monday, the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) comments the latest news and trends of development policy in The Current Column. The German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) is headed by Prof. Dr. Anna-Katharina Hornidge (Director) and Prof. Dr. Imme Scholz (Deputy Director).
